All About Eve In many ways the ultimate Broadway drama movie. Eve Harrington is the adoring fan who gradually takes over the life of aging star Margo Channing--her career and her fiance. While the film is definitely "all about Eve," told from the varied viewpoints of Margo, Margo's fiance, her screenwriter friend and his wife, and a sardonic theatre critic, it is also "all about" everyone else. Bette Davis is fantastic as Margo, who mirrors the star's own aging, and Anne Baxter holds her own as the insidious Eve. There's even a small part for a young Marilyn Monroe, as a "graduate from the Copacabana School of Acting." The film won Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Supporting Actor (George Sanders), among others, and is a joy to watch. Many quotable lines. **** out of **** Cast Written and Directed by Joseph K. Mankiewicz Year of Release: 1950 Other Versions of All About Eve: For Further Reading:
