Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery The little spoof that could...stay on the video sales charts until its first sequel came out two years later and grossed four times as much as the original. Now there are three of them. Three clever but insubstantial spy comedies that rely solely on the viewer's ability to recognize and ridicule various cultural icons. Granted, the first one is somewhat fresh and funny, and will pull a few deserved laughs from you among all the easy bathroom and sex humor. Mike Myers has a lot of talent, and Dr. Evil is quite a good character — have to love Seth Green as the put-upon Scott Evil, as well. **1/2 out of **** Cast Year of Release: 1997 Other Austin Powers Movies:
