The General

All ye who think you don't like silent film, start here. Buster Keaton, along with Charlie Chaplin, brought silent comedy to its zenith in the 1920s, the The General is Keaton's masterwork. He plays a train engineer during the civil war whose beloved train, The General, gets stolen by the Yankees. Oh, the girl he loves from afar is kidnapped, as well. He goes to get his train back. Oh, and the girl, too. Many hilarious scenes and amazing stunts (which Keaton did himself), like moving beams off the tracks five feet in front of a moving train.
