The Matrix

prev | 1 | 2

Mouse: "So what did you think of her?"
Neo: "Of who?"
Mouse: "The woman in the red dress. I designed her. She, um, well she doesn't talk very much, but-but if you'd like to meet her, I could arrange a much more personalized venue."
Switch: "A digital pimp hard at work."
Mouse: "Pay no attention to these hypocrites, Neo. To deny our impulses is to deny the very thing that makes us human."

Mouse: "How do the machines really know what Tasty Wheat tasted like, huh? Maybe they got it wrong. Maybe what I think Tasty Wheat tasted like actualy tasted like, uh, oatmeal, or uh, or tuna fish. That makes you wonder about a lot of things, y-y-you take chicken for example, maybe they couldn't figure out what to make children taste like, which is why chicken tastes like everything."

Child: "Do not try and bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead, only try to realize the truth."
Neo: "What truth?"
Child: "There is no spoon."
Neo: "There is no spoon?"
Child: "Then you will see that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself."

Neo: "What is it?"
Trinity: "A deja vu is usually a glitch in the Matrix. It happens when they change something."

Agent Smith: "Did you know that the first Matrix was designed to be a perfect human world, where none suffered, where everyone would be happy? It was a disaster. No one would accept the program; entire crops were lost. Some believed that we lacked the programming language to describe your perfect world, but I believe that as a species, human beings define their reality through misery and suffering. The perfect world was a dream that your primitive cerebrum kept trying to wake up from. Which was why the Matrix was redesigned to this, the peak of your civilization."

Trinity: "Dodge this." [gunshot]

Agent Smith: "You hear that, Mr. Anderson? That is the sound of inevitability. It is the sound of your death."

Agent Smith: "Goodbye, Mr. Anderson."
Neo: "My name is Neo."

Tank: "Okay, so what do you need? Besides a miracle."
Neo: "Guns. Lots of guns."

Neo: [phone rings] "I know you're out there. I can feel you now. I know that you're afraid. You're afraid of us. You're afraid of change. I don't know the future. I didn't come here to tell you how this is going to end. I came here to tell you how it's going to begin. I'm going to hang up this phone, and then I'm going to show these people what you don't want them to see. I'm going to show them a world without you, a world without rules and controls, without borders or boundaries. A world where anything is possible. Where we go from there is a choice I leave to you."
